Mantle Cavity

The Mantle Cavity is part of the anatomy of molluscs. It is a cavity between the mantle and the rest of the body.

In aquatic molluscs the cavity is filled with water and it often contains the gills, anus, osphradium, gonopores and nephridioporse.

In all molluscs it also functions as a respiratory chamber.
