In cnidarians, a Polyp is a body form that has a hollow, cylindrical trunk, ending in a central mouth surrounded by a circle of tentacles.

Solitary polyps are attached to solid objects by their base, and colonies of polyps are either directly or indirectly connected to other polyps.
